From practical options to stylish flourishes, here’s how we transformed the house with the perfect window coverings.
Living Room
The living room featured a large, square bay window—a beautiful focal point that brought in plenty of natural light. To maintain that bright and airy feel while also offering privacy, we opted for white wooden Venetian blinds. These blinds are a classic choice that filters light beautifully, offering a cozy yet modern vibe. The same blinds were used on the smaller side windows for a cohesive and elegant look.
Master Bedroom
Directly above the living room, the master bedroom was truly a showstopper with its large, statement window. Here, we combined shutters on the lower part of the window and smaller side windows with motorised pleated blinds in a soft, light gray for the shaped upper portion. This custom solution combined functionality with elegance:
- The shutters added privacy and filtered light effectively, perfect for creating a restful atmosphere.
- The motorised pleated blinds could fold neatly at the top and were easily operated with a remote, providing seamless convenience.
This combination didn’t just create a serene environment inside the room but also enhanced the home’s cohesive curb appeal from the outside.
Open-Plan Kitchen
The open-plan kitchen, complete with dining and living areas, was a dream space flooded with light from multiple patio doors and windows. The perfect match for this expansive and multifunctional area? Motorised day-and-night blinds (also known as zebra blinds) in a subtle beige tone.
These blinds offered the best of both worlds:
- Sheer strips for daytime light diffusion.
- Opaque strips for maximum privacy in the evening.
The motorized feature made operation effortless, ensuring the beautiful flow of light could be adjusted with ease. The result was a sleek and cohesive appearance throughout the space.
Utility Room
For the modest utility room, which featured a single door with a windowpane, we went with perfect fit Venetian blinds in frame. This simple yet practical solution provided privacy and allowed full functionality of the door.
Spare Bedroom
The spare bedroom was bathed in natural light, making it a welcoming and cozy retreat. We layered white wooden Venetian blinds with Roman blinds in a quality, elegant fabric. This pairing offered both functionality and sophistication:
- The Venetian blinds provided privacy and light control.
- The Roman blinds added warmth and a touch of luxury.

Landing
Even the landing wasn’t overlooked! This often-neglected area features two small windows that we outfitted with white Venetian blinds. These blinds served as clean, neutral backdrops and worked seamlessly to highlight floral arrangements and other decorative accents displayed on the landing.
